If you enjoy performing choral music and want to share the camaraderie of fellow singers, the Denver Chorale may be for you! We welcome experienced choral singers who read music or know they have a “good ear.” Auditions are ongoing and scheduled by appointment. Auditioning for the Denver Chorale is easy and only takes about 20 minutes. The audition consists of:
Performing a prepared piece
Vocalizing to determine range and tone quality
Singing major and minor scales
Pitch matching and aural recall exercises
Sight reading melody and rhythm
You’ll virtually meet with our artistic director, Valerie Montaño, who will gather information about your choral background and interests, and go over the Chorale’s rehearsal schedule, dues, performance attire and attendance policy. Rehearsals are on Tuesday evenings from 7-9:15 pm at Washington Park United Church of Christ in Denver. Our fall season begins in September and our spring season begins in January. We perform a winter and spring concert, as well as a spring Cabaret fundraiser.
